i have a 92 accord ex sedan that i plan dropping an h22a into. Now ive heard a lot about b series engines and am not sure what i should swap with. can anyone help?

A B series would be more of a hassle than a n H22. The H22 lays down better numbers too.

a friend of mine use to have an h22a in his 92 4dr accord. Until he sold it.

I'm going to agree h22 is a great swap for the accord.

h22a all the way, there's no other smart swap. to get the HP numbers of an h22a, you would need to get a ITR engine, which would cost 4-5k. the work would cost more, and you wouldn't be getting all the torque that your accord needs. it's the fastest, cheapest, and most logical swap for the accord. YOU NEED THE TQ.

the h22 is the best swap for the accord.

how about this, what engine work would get me the most power gain without going real crazy like boring out my cylindars?

NA - normally aspirated (all motor)
FI - forced induction (turbo/supercharger/nitrous)
actully if you get technical N20 isnt FI, but it adds more air so you can burn more fuel like a TC or SC, so it is considered FI by many people

i just read an article by texan about turbos and superchargers. But do they even make a supercharger for the 92-96 h22a's?

eh, i dont want turbo. its a real complicated set up and a supercharger just sounds cooler.

they make the supercharger 97-01 because of the engine bay room only. it would work exactly the same on a 92-96 h22. if someone swapped a 92-96 h22 into their 97+ they could still use a supercharger. it was widely believed it would be impossible to fit it in the 4th gen lude/accord bay but now 2 people have customized it to fit the 4th gen lude. I dont know how much room they have compared to us. who will be the first to try it in an accord...

would a supercharger fit in a 5th gen. accord engine bay?

for less money and more hp, get an F20B. perfect fit and youll be the envy of all your friends. trust me

cheaper? where? hp the same, h22 also perfect fit. why would you be the envy of all your friends? because its different. also I think they are only ob2 and have other various problems such as electronic steering that will make the swap extremely hard. maybe your friends would envy you if you could actually accomplish the swap.

isnt the f20b non vtec? and what car does it come out of anyway?
mrsyeltzin

it seems like the f20b is exactly the same as the h22, and if the h22 is a proven swap, im gonna go with something i know works.

It depends on what F20B he means, but neither one is as good as the H22A.
The SOHC F20B has 135 HP
The SOHC VTEC F20B has 148 HP
The SOHC VTEC F20B has 150 HP , yes 2 F20B's with a 2 HP difference.
The DOHC VTEC F20B has 180 HP.
They are from 5th gen JDM Accord 2.0EXi, and 2.0EX. The 6th gen Accord 2.0VTS, SiR, and Euro-R.
If you want to be different drop in a F18A from a 4th gen Accord EF, 105@ 5000 with a carb, that'd be different.
