1995 3800 fuel pump problem

I have a 95 transport with 3800 engine. I've had this for about 1 year and have had fuel pump problems before. about 3 months ago the fuel pump refused to prime so i suspected a broken 18ga. wire leading to the relay. So i spliced in a new relay from the yard. Worked fine up until 1 week ago. Just died while driving. Towed home, the next day it started without me doing anything to it. just turned the key. Idled for 10 min and ran thru the test drive. Died while trying to get to work less than 10mi away. I tried a new relay top and spliced in another, to no avail. 3 wires tested at 20-25 volts with key on, 2 wires were dead (grey & red) I'm guessing because i had the relay top off when I tested. Ran this morning for 3minutes or so (just turned the key). When the fuel pump primed this morning it sounded weak electrically speaking. I dropped the tank and tested the pump, test fine. wire harness under the drivers seat is okay to. CEL has been on since i bought the thing, shop said egr valve is lighting up the bulb. I'm not sure what else would keep the fuel pump from priming besides the relay. Is there a sensor that the computer looks for ?

Thanks in advance for the help.

FYI i did check the 20 amp fuse associated with the fuel pump located next to the relay. And there is power going to it.

You might have a PCM failure....

Does the van just shut off like it was turned off? Not like it was stumbling? Say it would be idling and all of the sudden its just dead? Also scan the PCM if you can and look for a code 1361

If you work in a junk yard and they allow it, just get a PCM from a 94-95 3800 H or C Body( LeSabre, Park Ave, Olds 88, Olds 98 or Bonneville ).... also any 94-95 3800 Olds, chevy or pontiac van... All of these will have the same PCM, all you will need to do is swap out the EPROM...
