Question about lowering

Sorry it this is in the wrong forums, please move it if need be.

If i was to lower my cars suspension by about 1 or 2 inchs, would it just be the springs that need to be changed, or should other parts of the suspension system be changed at the same time?

springs can just be changed but are you looking for improved handling too then go for a coilover setup...

but if you just want lowering and aren't as concerned about ride quality and handling, you can just go for lower springs...

H&R sport springs would be my advise :)

With a mild lowering spring such as the H&R OE, springs would be all you would have to change. With a stiffer, aggressive spring like the H&R Sports best to do shocks at the same time as most stock shocks can't dampen the stiffer performance shocks.

With more aggressive lowering you may need to get an alignment kit in order to bring the car back with factory alignment specs.

I'd probably want a stiff spring, so i'd need to look at new shocks also?

What do you mean by coilovers? (sorry i don't know much when it comes to modifying cars)

The stock springs in this car are pretty soft, hence why i was looking at replacing the springs. And ofcourse while replacing the springs i might as well go lower... How much lower i end up going depends on how far the bodykit sits down, don't wanna be scrapping out on everything (and my driveway is a real pain cuz of the angle its at).

I have been given a quote for "King" springs, 2inch lowered for $500 including wheel arch rolling. (remember i'm in australia, so thats 500 australian dollars).

Like i said, i'm not really into the whole car modding thing so wouldn't have a clue whats good and whats not, i think "King" are australian made, but not sure on the quality of them.

Unfortunately don't have any information on Kings. If you can't get H&R locally you may want to consider Eibach as they are of similar quality.

I wouldn't go lower than 1.5 inches. Lower than that I think brings more drawbacks than benefits such as harsh ride, scraping, allignment problems etc. I recommend H&R Sports. Most of the best springs I think come out of German companies. A good shock like Koni,Bilstein, or Tokico is also necessary

So what do you think about Eibach Sportline combined with Koni gas shocks, and camber kit.
