2002 Express dome light issue

I recently did some work on a 2002 Chevy Express van. When I was done the dome light stopped turning on when the door would open. The dome light still work when I manually turn it on with the switch, but wont light up when the door opens. Any ideas?

there should be a dome lamp over-ride switch in addition to the dome lamp switch. when this switch is pushed the dome lamps will not turn on when the doors are open.

check the plunger switch inside the door frame maybe its jammed? thats if yours is mechanical.
