Oil pressure gauge

I have an 2001 Pontiac Firebird 3.8l V6 and when I am idleing the pressure gauge drops to zero but when i am going down the road and giving it gas the pressure gauge goes between 40 and 60 I have changed the sending unit 5 times now and it still does it. What can be the problem
