98 plymouth grand voyager HELP!!!!

Brief history....van died coming off the interstate. Replaced all filters, camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor at diferent times (it was throwing codes for these). The van runs great for 15 minutes or so then shuts down. It will crank a time later and run great for 15 minutes or so! I've changed both of these sensors twice and still have the problem. I called the dealer and was told that I have to change BOTH sensors at the same time or the one I don't change will short out. Anyone have any ideas?

Changing both sensors to avoid a short is new to me but, I wouldn't discount it. I have read shops will change both sensors no matter which sensor is throwing a code because a cam code can mean a bad crank sensor and visa versa especially on 3rd generation (96-00) vans.

If you're still getting a cam/crank code I would take a very close look at the wire harness and especially the connections in the harness. Folks have gone round and round with these codes only to find a chaffed wire or wire barley making a connection internal to the connector. Hold the connectors and give each wire a tug. Not a yank - a tug. Use a meter and check for the reference voltage and continuity on all wires. If all looks good then ya, try both sensors.
