We did head gaskets on this & now the car won't start. the battery was dead & now it is charged up but still won't start. we have double checked all the connections & spark wires but still seem to have no fuel out of injectors, Was there something special to do with the alarm before we did this, or now that we have to do that might be not giving the injectors fuel? Please help, we did this for a freind & now we can give her car back yet!!:frown:

Still need help. I have tried the security thing with leaving it on for 10 mins. doesn't seem to do anything. still just turn over but no fire & no injectors. Really need your help!!!:frown:

Now in reading more on I have found out that ours does not have the passlock key. we have no + nor a chip. however we do have a sercurity light that comes on in the on position but once i try to start the car it goes out if i put it back into on position. what else could it be?

You do have the passlock 2.

Does the security light blink? or stay steady?

check all your grounds I had one do the same thing,I even change the dam fuel pump, just to find we had broke a ground off behind the headlights on pass.side, what it had to do with the pump have no idea..but they wont start without them, can you here the fuel pump come on when you turn the key on ,if so check to see if you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail, when you turn the key on do you have a chime, if not it the theft system,or the ignition switch.

OK so now we have it running. we had the cruise control plug on the injector plug. we now have fixed it, & it ran great until we turned it off & tried to start again & it was hard to start. got it started again & let run for 15mins+ & turned off & tried to turn on again. it will not run. tries to but won't. I did the security 10min thing & the light never went off. the light was constant but only when in the on postion not while it was running. I am very seriously thinking of bypassing the security if any of you think that still might be my problem. Please let me know what you think.
thanks

if at run position the security is on, then it just tell you that the security part is working and has not been tripped. think of the steady on as a lamp test.

If it was blinking then the security got tripped.

A security bypass is only possible when the security work atleast partally.

There is 2 ways to bypass it, the most common is to simply disconnect the passlock module. This work only when the key relearn has worked. So you need to be in non-locked up mode, then disconnect while the engine run. It will be "bypassed" until your battery run flat or you disconnect it. A better solution is to cut the wires and put a 470 to 10000 ohms there, then redo a key relearn procedure. This will fool the BCM into thinking that the key is always there.

As for why it won't start, you should try to borrow a code reader. There is lots of things that could have went wrong...

OK, we have a code reader & is wasn't coming up with anything.
Now it has after sitting for a few days, it comes up mass airflow sensor. once the code pops up it won't start again. Once we delete the code it starts back up. did thid several times with everytime we shut it down or it would shut down (after about 3 mins) it would start again until we cleared it. so then we got the sensor. it still really running properly still. I have replaced every fuse in all three boxes. they were not blown but just looked like they have been burned. I am really starting to think that it is the ECM. What do you think?

it is better if you just give us the code # instead of you interpreting what it is.

the code was mass air flow low or weak. that is all the codes that pop up.

He asked for the code number, not the text interpretation of the code.
He want the Pxxxx code

Are you getting spark?

-check again all the connectors at the ignition coil module, the purple and yellow wire connector is the most important one (with twisted wires) make sure it is connected at both ends (icm and ckp sensor under your exhaust manifold.

-it should start without MAF sensor, so I would not worry about that.
- and for the future PXXXX code format is better.
