Power windows stop...but work later?

Driver side power window goes down all the way every time, but going up is a hit or miss proposition. Sometimes it goes up only about halfway, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. Rarely does it ever make it all the way up. If I wait a few minutes it goes up again though - sometimes all the way closed sometimes not quite all the way. If i repeat this over time, eventually it closes all the way. Otherwise I have to pull it up grabbing the top edge as I use the switch with the other hand. Is this a regulator problem? What causes the thing to work again after a period of time elapses???

I had this problem with my van for about two years, then it started to get where I had to "assist" it by hand as you know all the time. I had the window motor replaced, was still under warranty at that time. Worked good for a few years, but now again does it occasionally, and also as you experienced it will go back up a half a minute later. I have not taken the door apart, but wonder if some part of the regulator mechanism is sticky or tight. When its near dead like the old one, I'll do it myself and check the regulator motion. Good Luck, I'll write when I do mine.
