Poetry...

**NEED TO VENT**
God I fuckin' despise my english teacher, today we received an assignment on Poety(yay! :mad: ) here's the fun part,
To be Modeled after a Walt Whitman poem (can't remember the fuckin name) but his was over 47 pages I guess (don't even get me started on him I hate the fucker as of now) but we have to make a 1000 word minimum poem about ourselves and feelings towards life. Then the other part is that we are to record one line from each of everyone's poem's and everyone gets a fuckin' tape of it for Graduation this year. Thats not even the part that really pisses me off the thing is that it is going to be worth 50% of our projects and assignments mark.
FUCK I HATE THIS SHIT.
Why do females(not directly towards all in popualtion) have to be so difficult when I tried to reason with the teacher I was bitched at by almost all the girls in my class said "OMG it's not hard just write about yourself."

If you'd rather not talk about yourself,make some shit up,the more outlandish and satanic the better.Something like,"I look into the heavens and see death's lusty demons playing the purple electric harps of doom....."

Or alternatively,PLAGIARISE!Pilfer someone else's stuff,but not from a source that she could find.Run your chosen passage through Google,and if there's no matches,it's a fair bet she's never seen it either.

That sucks I forgot how crappy english class was I love reading and writing but the classes were all just like that! See if you can change the poet you have to copy to say Homer or Jim Morrison (some of the few I like) Then you can write about cool stuff. Walt Whitmans bridge sucks too!

Once I was out of school (grade) I never had to look at that shit again and I've never had to make use of it. Its a complete waste of your time. If someone enjoys that shit (and hey - there are peole who like to be shit on so there are all kinds) then more power to them.

What I did for my poetry assignments was point out to the teacher that its a complete waste of time (and good reasons why) and wrote a short poem on how useless and unproductive poetry writing is. Its the only time I got less then an A (B instead) in school for a semester, but damn poetry SUCKS!

poetry does suck. and english teachers suck too . One time I wrote the lyrics to Sad But True (Metallica , only the greatest band ever) , and handed it in for a poetry assignment. All I did was retitle it "My Dark Side". Not only did she not pick up on it I got an A she thought it was "very creative *stupid star sticker here*"

I clicked edit to fix my punctution , but english sucks so I changed my mind !!!

actually poetry is kinda cool imho
one thing that makes ity alot easier...poetry doesn't always have to rhyme and free verse is alot more liberating....just put on some music and start to free write...meaning just start writing whatever is on your mind untill your inner thoughts find their ways onto the paper...come out alot better that way

I write Poetry myself, if you need some help, just let me know. I dont know how MUCH help I can be, but I'll offer what I can.

POETRY IS AWESOME!!!!
It seems today anything can be considered poetry, just write a story and turn it in - that's poetry. Hey, at least your not writing sonnets.
Punish (pun intended) him and turn in a 2000 word story.
Make every detail up, the more outlandish the better, and if he asks "So when in your life did you defeat a marshmellow breathing space dragon?" Just make more B.S. up and say it's about your personal struggle with glue sniffing, or something along those lines. Have fun.
