missing @ high rpm

Hi am new to this page, am using a 1993 accord for racing motor blew up so replaced with another, comp 180 on all 4 cyl. Old motor used to rev to around 6000 rpm can only get 4700 to 5400 out of this new one, when gets there engine starts missing rpm slows down to around 4200 speeds back up and starts missing again. Changed out dist. rpm went to red line loaded car went to track would only rev to 5000 while racing. Both motors are same model F22A1. Check engine light is not on but on the ecm on passenger side floor board red light is flashing counted 9 flashes red only and pause then 9 flashes again. is there such thing as rev limite
