67 camaro engine swap

You would have to use a matching Nissan tran. There would be huge amounts of work fabricating just about everything... engine mounts, exhaust, fuel system, driveshaft, cluth linkage, wiring harness etc, etc.

IMO of you want a high-tech DOHC engine, and are willing to go to all that trouble, try something like a Caddy Northstar.

A definite head turner would be a twin turbo aluminum head SBC. 1,400+HP on tap plus actual torque not found in the inline six would turn, twist, or snap any head. It works for Gale Banks, Polly Motorsports, and others who have tried it. If you're stuck with a Datsun with a narrow engine bay there aren't many choices, but the '67 Camaro has room for even a BBC, so the SBC and pipes for inlet/turbine/exhaust/intercooler is not difficult.

Besides, the complete Nissan inline setup would sell for more in the open market and nearly fund the SBC project if you buy carefully. Again, people who don't have the space have no choice but the inline unless they want to go factory slow.

Why in the WORLD would you disgrace and de-value a beautiful American car by putting a frieakin' Nissan engine in it? IMHO, you should just sell the car to someone who would truly appreciate it, and would do the RIGHT thing! Sorry, JMHO.

first of all i like american cars but i also like import cars i thought this would be an intresting idea im not saying im gona do it. if i dont do that ill put an ls7 motor in it or a 350 but i figured that it would be a lighter motor and is very very capable of getting 1000 + hp out of it and i would not be weighted down by the v8. i would have a lighter but still very powerful camaro.

Yeah, I get that, I saw what those fools in Tokyo Drift did to that classic Mustang, (basically same thing you were thinking about).
Not dissin' you, just hatin' the blasphemous idea of rice power in an American classic.
Seriously, as rare as those cars are becoming, I believe it would be a mistake that would really hurt the value of the car. You could buy an all-aluminum SBC block & heads, and really make some serious power with a lot less weight. But even with iron blocks, you can make a ton of HP with a SBC. I think the new LSX motors would be a good fit, if you want modern power in an old-school car, and you wouldn't have to cut the car up to do it... Again, JMHO, and you should hang onto that car, it's value will continue to go up, as long as you don't hack on it.
