I call upon the incredible power of this forum to please help answer a important (if dumb) question:
On the Crankshaft pulley bolt, are the threads right hand (ie turn to the right to tighten) or left hand (turn left to tighten).
And what is the best way to get that bolt off.
Thanks much!!:)

right to tighten and left to loosen, i got mine off with my air gun, like the gun wouldnt take it off at stock pressure, so i just turned the pressure up and it spun it off easy

Thanks! :)
I don't have access to compressed air so I rented an electric impact wrench (listed at 240 foot pounds of torque), and it didn't budge. That's what got me thinking that I was doing something wrong (or it is seriouly frozen). I will try again and post what happens.
Thanks again!!:)

you're doing it right... just take it to a shop if you can and have them loosen it up and put it back in take it home and continue your work

Well, I can report total failure!
Thanks for the suggestions, I'm going to call the local garage (the owner is a relitive) to loosen it.

I have an update, my Dad borrowed a big air impact wrench from work and he assembled an air hose to reach from our garage to my neighbor's garage (were the car is currently stored).
I am happy to report the bolt came off!!!:D :D :D :D :D
The FUCKING ASSHOLE that worked on it last put a SHIT load of thread lock on the bolt, hence the trouble.
The book calls for 119 foot pounds of torque, more than enough to hold it in place. The bolt is pretty mangled so I'm going to replace it for $8.50.
Thanks again to all for the suggestions and THANK YOU Dad!!!!
