2000 Suburban ABS light

While driving home on Saturday, my ABS light started coming on intermittenly. Then today I get word from my better-half that it is on almost all the time now. Where is a good place to start?

I had read that if one tire is lower then the rest it can cause this to happen. I will investigate this when I get home, but past that I get to research this.
