Apexi VAFC Question

My friend has a Apexi VAFC fuel/vtec controller installed in his Accord but he doesn't need it/use it at all so he's giving it to me since I can really use something like that. Problem is, I have an IS300, no vtak in sight. Instead of buying an SAFC, I was wondering if I can just hook up the VAFC and use it to control fuel only and disregard the vtec part. Will this work?
