I want to rip it out, what are your suggestions to have it replaced with?
Those models are just too high when they go out.

Its going to cost you on this one. You can go with standard shocks/struts or manually adjustable air ride shocks. It depends on your vehicle on the air shocks/ struts. To go from air struts to standard you will need all the components for standard shock mount.
OEM Front upper mount $71 x 2= $142, Spring back $88 x 2=$176,
Front shock $151 x 2= $302
OEM Rear Std. suspension Back $18 X 2= $36, Spring Back $88 X 2=$176
Rear shock $143 x 2=$286 Total for front and rear $588 part. Labor, 2.5hr at $95= $237
Another $35 in shop supplies and clean up, tax at 8.5% =$73.
Total estimated drive out at dealership $933. I would try as many local shops for quotes on the best price for both air ride manual adjustable and the standard shocks. Monroe company may have a replacement air strut for your vehicle cheaper than the dealership. Sears usually has then on sale buy one get one or free labor on four. They are also warranted lifetime. Hope this helps.
