Cloth door panel

I painted one of my rear door panels and I'm really not happy with the way the cloth panel turned out......I want to wrap it in vinyl or cloth as was suggested before, but have a couple of questions before I start destroying interior panels more than I already have......First, where is the best place to get vinyl, since I would rather have that than cloth....Second how do you secure the vinyl to the panel? Glue it on the front, in the back, or does the panel just hold it in place when its all put together?.......and finally how do I get the cloth panel off? It looks like it is held on with plastic clips that will only come apart if I break them? Any help anyone can give me on this would be greatly appreciated.

When I had a small project that required vinyl, I went to an automotive trim shop, you know, a place where they re-upholster seats and re-do vinyl tops. They had rolls of vinyl, which were expensive.
They did have scraps laying around, and the scraps were cheap. Do your prototypes with scraps.

i redid my door panels and dash, i just added to the top of the vinyl that was already there. I would suggest glueing in some of that upholstery padding/foamy stuff first cuz if you dont the new fabric doesn't stick all that well. I also stretched the fabric tight and then stapled it around the backside of the panel. as for the two different pieces of the door panel held together by the plastic thingys in the middle((i think thats what you were talkin about isn't it?)) i just took a flat-screwdriver and forced the new fabric through the joint, good luck.

Thanks for the help guys, but I got pissed at it last night and just cut the cloth out of the door panel....I'm gonna get some type of foam to make a backing for it and just glue the vinyl onto that....for now its just going back in the car all black with plastic where the cloth should be
