are there any modifications for a 4 cylinder engine? cause i cant seem to find any, only for the V8

sure. Turboes, stroker kits, etc.

Sure, there's a lot, though not as much as the 5.0
For starters there are I4 headers available, which you can add a high flow cat to and any performance muffler to.
You can get a bigger cam, and roller rockers.
Underdrive the accessory pulleys.
Get steeper gears for the 7.5" rear.
You can even buy a storker kit is you want to get really crazy.
There are turbo's readily available, as well as intercoolers.

I have seen some 2.3s put down some damn good number, with the help of Turbos which was mentioned before. www.stangnet.com has a section dedicated to what you want.

I have seen Thunderbird TurboCoupes with
their 2.3 Turbo motors sell for under $1000.
Maybe there would be a way to swap one of
those motors into your Mustang? Very close
to buying a really cheap SVO engine. :)
