Diecast customizing...

I've posted the same thread before at the Car modeling forum but I think it might be useful here since it has to do with diecast customizing...Some infos about me and my in thw works models:

Well I've done a lot of diecast customizing being seriously involved in the hobby the last two years...I customize diecast models in any scale from 1:64 to 1:18 going to every style possible from lowrider to tuner and from sleds to drifters...

I wish I had pictures of my best models but since I sell(or give or trade) most of them I have only pictures of cars I work on them right now and some failures or items going to my personal collection...

In this post I'll give you only pics of 1:43 Bburago models with some good examples from most genres:Enthousiast(F40),Tuner(Citoren Xsara,Renault Clio) and rally(Fiat Bravo,Renault Clio Cup) plus the wild Golf...

The reason for the 1:43 scale is the smaller cost but with enought detail(most custom 1:43 goes around 50 to 100 for the most wild ones) the opener ferrari is a different story since it was too chalenging and proppably not for sale/trade...

Here is a pic of the Ferrari with the opened rear hatch and opened most of the vents.It's primmed and ready for paint and hinges...

Here is the wild bodykited Xsara with one off bodykit,front predator kit,removed rear door handles,new bonnet with big scoop,new wing smoothed in the body and awesome metal flake paint(rainbow colors).THe bad thing is that it fall from the shelf and the paint on the big scoop chiped...:( The interior is in the works still rough but you get the main idea...

Here is one of the most simple but beatifull ones on the bench...Two tone paintjob and hand curved wheels in the plastic...The enigne and interior still to be detailed...

Here is the pic of my Golf(IV) I really love the bodykit on this one it took many patience to shape it the right way and I'm still working on the rear bumper...(It's gonna be a beast painted black and with a good interior!)

Well the Clio looks good and the engine is clor coded together with other small details(may not be up to the par but I'm pretty happy to have it around...I like the race look)

The Bravo is my first srious model.The paintjob was difficult and everything is handpainted,custom decals,most parts scratchbuild(Autometer style gauge,fire extinguisher roollbar and tire in the rear not in this pic)

WEll sorry for the big post but I think that some of you might be intrested since most techniques are the some and after all they might be source of inspiration...SOrry for my bad english and If anyone interested I'll post other scales and more pics...

Hope I helped someone and some of you like my work...It's pretty hard to show the quality through a cheap webcam...

You'd be surprised...
Maybe because most of the pics are work samples you can't see the end product but yes ppl love to have something unique.
There are people that give more than you can imagine to have an 1 of 1 car!Think that many pay for limited editions...Are anything more limited than a custom paintjob...

About the selling part I don't go around and sell them.There are some collectors that from time to time ask me to do this or that e.t.c. I know each and every one of them in person and they've seen my work in person so there is no prob!

You can't imagine the biggest amount of money that somone payd for a 1:18 custom Autoart...(The cost of the parts,pure costs without my work,was around 200 US!)
So yes ppl actually buy them...

When the F40 is finished I'll post some pics that might make it more clear why ppl pay for them...
