first off, i don't use anything except megiuar's. it's the best shit, and only a couple bucks extra, but worth it. as far as the water spots, get a california water blade (the original, with medical grade silicone) and wipe down the car immediately after you wash it, this means that NO PARTS CAN AIR DRY...if need be, keep the whole car wet before you wipe it down. when waxing, only apply the wax and rub off following the lines of the car, that way if the wax does mark a little bit, they will follow the car's lines. good luck!

You need to clean your paint of the embedded water spots before you wax it. Use a 3M fine cut cleaner followed by a polish to bring the finish back up and then apply wax to protect your newly cleaned and polished finish.

What is the condition of the paint? If it's in a reasonably good shape, you might be able to use something like Klasse All In one to get the water spots out.
