I already have a Supercharged Xterra '02, and what to make her faster w/out giving up the off-road ability. Due to the fact that the car isn't under my name, I can't do what I want with it. What can I do that wont void the warranty or inhibit my from passing inspection.
Thanx
Simon

you can start with a k&n fipk or similar intake. and as far as i know an exhaust upgrade won't void the warranty either. if you search the forums you find tons of info on both.

oh, and don't call it a car.:finger:

Thanx for the tip
On a scale of 1 to 10, how hard would it be for a newbie to install a K&N Aircharger. I have little knowledge on everything under the hood, I'm trying to understand the instructions from http://www.martelbros.com/store/Html/knn/pdfs/63-1052.pdf, but I just see too many areas I can screw up. If I have my Xterra infront of me and do install it will it make sense?
Thanx

if you can turn a wrench and read at the same time, you'll be fine.
if your really worried about it, find a club in your area.

The basic rule is that the dealership has to prove your modification caused the malfunction you're trying to get covered under warranty. They can't say because you have a K&N that your driveshaft isn't covered, or windows, etc, etc.

A lot also has to do with each individual dealership and how well they treat their customers, or what kind of relationship you have with the shop manager.

Thanx, my family has a perfect relationship with the dealer. My parents grew up with one of the owners. So I guess they would cover it.
