Water in the Engine

:( Hello.....I need some help.........
I drove through a puddle and sucked some water into the engine....
It still runs but it sounds awful....
I've changed the plugs, and made sure there was not condensation in the distributor, but it still runs rough....
Anyone have any ideas?
I do have to replace the valve cover gasket as there is oil in cylinders 1 and 2........
so if there is something that can be done then I can do that as well...

Its probably ur connecting rods. My friend had the same problem and he had to get the engine replaced .

Your pistons and cylinders were meant to compress air. Water is much more dense. It's kind of like trying to compress a rock, with the same results: valve damage or connecting rod damage.
Sorry, dude, but I think your engine is toast.

PS-Do a compression test. You might be lucky and just have valve damage.

let the motor run awhile to see if it can burn off the extra water, we did that in my friends truck after we went off roading, it damn near stalled on us, but after about 10mins or so, it ran fine again.

water does not compress, and if you got too much water in there, when the pistons moves up to compress the combustion chamber, the water has to go somewhere... it either goes out through the valves or it stays in the combustion chamber and bends a connecting rod.
