Durango vs SE-R?

Hi,

My parents have a 2001 Dodge Durango with a 4.7 liter 245hp Magnum V8 engine.
My friend has a 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R with a 4 cyl engine that generates 165 hp.
I raced him only for fun with my 1990 Hodna Civic LX with my punny 1.5 liter 92hp engine and of course he smoked me.
Now hes talkin shit about how his car is so fast and I was just racing for fun I knew I would lose!
Well, he said he would beat the Durango.
We race over by our local airport which is in the backroads already marked off for the 1.4 mile.
Everyone races there cause there are no cops or pedestrians to worry abotu.
Its completly secluded and is a perfect str8 road.
We are goin to race from a complete start. Both our cars will be automatic unfortunally.
So it wil not come to skill.
Just pedal to the metal.
thanks,
Owen::cool:

as long as the driver of the durango doesn't roll, I think it would be a pretty close race. My money is on the SE-R though.

Go Dodge!

Tell us how the race turns out, this should be interesting to hear.

If you really want to win, dont race a quarter mile, race a shorter race. Trucks have a good low end but there high end sucks, he might beat you off the line due to the truck being heavier, but you will catch and pass him in no time, but he might be able to catch back up if he has enough time. Know your opponents weakness and use it against them.:D

the se-r runs 16s ish...

the spec v runs slightly quicker...

a durango isn't quite slow in any case...

hell, a new hummer runs low 17s, so it would be close, considering the weight/power difference b/n a hummer and a durango.

closer than your friend would like to think

the SE-R spev V's are mid 15 second cars. i would expect the non spec V's to be in the high 15's.

I raced a spec V in my 300 NA at the track and he ran a 15.1.
I beat him with a 14.8
The spec V was much faster than I thought it would be. It was stock.
