beat a vette the other day

beat this corvett the other day on my way to work in my stock hatch. now b4 u throw up the bs flag i'm sure the other person didn't know how to drive....this is how it went down"

we're sitting at the light and i just know that the corvette is gonna take it...as soon as the light turns green i nail it and beat him across the intersection:ylsuper i don't think he knew he was racing but i beat him anyways:hehehe:

oh come on i know some of u do this too:silly2:

lol Maybe some people would do that but personally I'd give the other person an indication that I intend to race him. :)

naaahh...still didn't know and about time he realized it i then beat him to my turn:devil:

it wasn't a race race but i was just havin fun:D

I've had people do this to me, only a couple times they hit the flashers afterward like they'd beat me or something! And anyone who's never done this to a Vette or Viper is either not driving or lying. I heard a story about a cop who pulled over a relatively new Viper for doing 100+ mph on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago... told him he'd let him go if he gave the Viper everything it had on the way out so he (the cop) could see it go.

i don't think i believe the viper thing.....but i don't hit flashers.....just a mind game i play to make my drive more intresting.....like beating a car on the opposite side of te road across the intersection.....mabey i'm weird like that or somthing:D

no side swiping thats not cool! I've had people take off the line like that to me. I just catch up, even it up then, learn em' who the boss is!:cool:

"beat a vette the other day" when I read this I thought you were going to write about beating a chevette! But now you've crushed my dreams.

i tried to race a corvette from a roll a couple weeks ago... he beat me by at least 8 car lengths in about 7 seconds........

i got killed..... i cant wait til i get an sr!

Sometimes, I'm just in a hurry and take off harder than usual, and some quick ass car(compared to my van or the camry) flies by me because he thought I was challenging him or something. It's always humorous and makes me less stressed to go to the place I need to be.

And sometimes when cruising on the freeway, I slowly pass a fast car and pretend like it's a close race or something.. hahahhaa, driver's of slow cars have fun too!

I was about to one time with a few of my friends... but they all decided not to go last minute. I predict some high 18 second passes though!

Have you ever read about the Hot Rod magazine buildup on a Chevette called "The Bad Seed"? Had a 500ci Cadillac big block/tranny/rear end in an otherwise stock Chevette... The notion was to build a low 11 second car for less than $2000. They did it too :)

Never read it, but now I'm very interested... do you have any dates for issues with this project in it?

They ran it a few years ago, '96 I think... I haven't been able to find much info on it online, but I'll take a look :)

Have any of you folks ever heard of Grassroots Motorsports?? They're a magazine that covers a lot of road racing and autocrossing that are within the reach of most people. It's a great freaking magazine, and they hold an annual event where you only get to spend the around 2000 bucks on the entire vehicle(changes with the year... 2002: you get $2002). The competition is based on drag strip runs, autocross rankings, and a concurs. Really really cool stuff there! Go to www.grmotorsports.com

Blu I gotta hand it to you mate that was classic. I've done the same thing in Northern Chicago years ago with my Toyota 4X4. I espcially loved to do things like that in the winter on snowy roads hahahaha.
