i have a 98 chevy s-10,i had no ac and finally checked it out, turned on the ac in the cab but nothing but hot air, checked the compresser and the clutch was not turning, jumped out the compresser from the battery and it worked great, plenty of cold air, checked the pressure,it was 38 pounds with ac on,100 psi when off. With the compresser not coming on with the ac control in the cab could this be a pressure switch or electrical issue, just about ready to throw a toggle switch on it and control the compresser manually, any help with this would be appreciated ,THANKS

Have you checked fuses and relays?

Often it's the pressure cycling switch (the switch on the accumulator) that's bad. I just replaced mine today, as a matter of fact.

I recently had to replace mine as well.

It's right out in the open. Unclip the wiring harness, unscrew the switch, screw on the new switch, reconnect the wiring harness. The switch is on a schrader valve so no refrigerant leaks during the swap.

Cost about $20 at advance auto for the AC Delco part (recommended).
