I am just wondering why people dont outline the front and rear lights when they complete their models. I have noticed the Fujimi headlights look terrible but when they are outlined it greatly improves the look of them. Why dont people do this?

Hm, didn't know this , I ll try it once.

Do you mean putting some fine marker paint on the clear part or on the plastic where the gless will be fixed?

Just a very small outline aroung the lense would look the best I think. Have a look at this link and see what you think. I am sure you will agree that it looks great.

I think it does look good, but the line is too think to be realistic. Maybe if you used a marker pen to un along the side (the piece that touches the body plastic, it would look more realistic.

I was thinking the same thing. I think that a Gundam Marker for panel lines would achieve a good result.

I outline my lenses and windows.. I use a sharpie marker for it.. it make the lenes look a lot better.. on the window i do the bottom edge so it looks like there is an end to the window. Later Rick S

I was just finishing my ITR last night and was thinking that the rear end looked a little sparse, nothing but red. I wish I read this last night.

I use white glue for my lens, so I'll probably pop them off later and try outlining them.

personally i would only outline the lights if there was some kind of black rubber sealing strip in real life.

On some models, the panal lines are deep enough to be darker all on thier own. If you've seen cars like this, you know what I'm talkin about, if you hav'nt seen any cars like that you're probably confused.:D

idk why everybody outlines with black! that makes it look like a toy and not realistic. black only really works with white bodys or mabee a dark gray, but for any other color u should do it a darker shade ofthe body color.

I actually outline most of my cars, I to think it adds a good bit of realism

I have to disagree with you IMO.
If you look at any car's join lines between doors etc...they are black ;)

That is true, but even the thinnest lines on models look somewhat out of proportion (to me anyway  ). I Think sometimes a darker body colour still adds defination of the body panels, without that 'thick' look to them.

But to each their own, that's what makes this hobby so interesting :).

check this link. http://www.briansmodelcars.com/tutorials/tutorial.asp?TutorialID=7&CurPage=1

on another note if you do them black you make then stand way more out than they outta and actually mabe them look too thick.
