Crankshaft Positioning Sensor

Apparently I have a faulty CPS. With that being said, There is no communicationwith my computer as a result of the faulty CPS. When I replace the CPS, is there anything special I need to do prior to installing the new one? Does the crank have to be in any particular position in relation to the pick-up? Thanks...

Unbolt the old one, install the new one. start it up

Correct, nothing special about the installation; it's plug n play. There's a "how to" in the Cherokee section.

Well for you, if you havent already fixed it, or anyone else having this same problem, mine was bad, it took my cousin like 30 mins to replace it, its not fun to get to, the hardest part in his opinion was running the wire over the top of the tranny blindly not knowing what was in the way.
