I am looking to buy a new car after my beautiful suped up 95 Ford Mustang has been destroyed in a car accident, just a mere four hours ago... It's sad, I know.. my speakers have been destroyed (almost all $5K worth of them) my rims(very chrome and very nice... $3K value) and all of my add-ons, including my custom body kit (another $6K) all of it is covered by my insurance.. (woohoo, shopping spree)... So... I basically have a huge insurance kickback to use to buy a new car... so I'm looking at buying a very fast, very reliable, very cool sportscar... and I think Camaros and Corvettes are two of the ugliest cars ever created, no matter how much faster they are than a Mustang... so lets not even go there..
Basically, I need some ideas... just somewhere to start, and I don't want to spend more than $35K if possible, but I can afford to go up to $80K if needed, but just start it at $20K-$30K, that's my preferred range.... I need a car with AT LEAST 280 horsepower for the powerful driving that I require... My Mustang was a 486 HP beast... because of the custom dropped engine... now it's in a junkyard, so I need something to somewhat compensate that power straight out of the factory...

Welcome to AF!!!! :D Sorry about your car. :(
I bet someone will suggest a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (a.k.a. Dodge Stealth). Hell, I'll suggest it. ;)

Here are some choices you have:
Toyota Supra
Nissan 300ZX
Mazda RX-7
Mitsubishi 3000GT
Chevrolet Corvette [even though you said you don't like it, can't leave it out of the crowd ;)]
If you want to go into the $80k range, you might want to consider importing a Skyline GT-R :D That'd be a car :)

How come I can't find the Dodge Stealth or the 3000GT at any of the dealerships when I look for it??? None of them even have the option to look for them... why is that? I've always wanted a 3000 GT too... So far I'm looking into a 2002 Mitsubishi Spyder Convertible, which only has 200 HP, but I guess I can deal with that, because the car is pretty sweetass and very upgradeable... Since mitsu is offering no payments for a year, coupled with 0% financing, and no down payments for a year... I'm thinking that I could use the extra money that I will get because of my add-ons, such as my sound system and my chromiums... and use that to drop a much more powerful engine... probably a 486 or something... So, that should increase the power substantially and make it a much more desireable vehicle... What do you guys think? And let me know about the damn Stealth/3000GT thing... I'm dying... I've spent 2 hours trying to find the damn thing. :)

LOL!! :D Sorry! I didn't realize you meant new cars. You'll only find the 3000GT used. Same with the Supra, RX-7 and 300ZX.
