... I disconnected the charcoal canister from the intake. On my new dual carb setup ( ZC SOHC dual carb 'tegra engine) there is a pipe which should be connected to a charcoal canister, but in South Africa we never had any emissions controls until recent years, so my D15B3 (single carb) never came equipped with a charcoal canister:rolleyes:

Can I block these passages off, will it affect performance, or should I rather try my best to obtain a charcoal canister...

The pipe fitting thingie on the intake for the charcoal canister on my car broke off. I filled the hole with some silcone, and it runs just fine.

just curious if someone can take a pic of the carb set-up and this charcoal canister thing, sounds pretty interesting to me :)

the charcoal canister is on the firewall, just below your fuel filter. its right around the wiper motor and the fuse panel under the hood. you cant miss it cause its a big black cylinder. if you disconnect it, dont just plug the vacuum line, cause then you are gonna have pressure problems in your fuel tank. you are gonna wanna completely remove the canister, and vent one line and plug the rest. i forget which one is the vent tube, but ill look it up in a schematic and get back with you guys about it. the only downside to doing this is emissions, and theres really no upside to it at all, unless you have some beast of a race car that needs that extra .5lb of vacuum or whatever
