At aceleration, when the car goes into 2nd, it SEVERELY jumps, like a hard "pop" into the gear....sometimes I break the tires loose...but it only does it in second. Do I need to rebuild my tranny? Ive no experience dealing with transmissions, so any help is appreciated...

What type of tranny do you have? If it's an auto, maybe check the fluid level, if it's a 5-spd, do you have an aftermarket clutch? With my ACT i can break the tires loose going into second, just because the clutch grabs so hard...

Also, where in Phoenix do you live, my parents live in Gilbert, and I know all the SE-R people in and around the Phoenix area. (I'm going to school at UofA right now).

Mine does this too...dunno why. Check your tire pressures tho...it seems worse when they are low.

Also, its worse when the engine is cold...

Maybe the auto mount heats up? Maybe more fluid movin around in the trans? dunno...

If your auto shifts really hard, or weird, i'd check the fluid level. low tranny fluid makes an auto do weird things. I used to check mine rather frequently, as i had a slight leak, and when it got low, the tranny would act very strange.

I believe theres a hot/cold mark...but whens the best time to check it?

I'm sure when you change your oil is fine to check, as long as you don't have a major leak or anything. I'd usually check mine when it was cold, just because I usually changed my oil when the car was cold, so i wouldn't burn myself, But you should be able to check it either way, iirc there are two different ranges, one hot and one cold (think the hot was between the two notches, the cold range was actually marked on the stick, i think?)

Read paragraphs 2 & 3 of this: http://www.se-r.net/transaxle_clutch/auto_lsd_info.html

Good article. He was speaking about the Q45 having an "in-line" filter that catches this material. Did anyone find one yet for a SR20? =)

That's cool, I actually know quite a few SE-R people up in North Phoenix. Well, Northwest kinda too. Do you know about the az SE-R list? Here's a link. AZ SE-R list (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Team-NISMO-AZ) You should join, there's usually meets every month or so, with little events happening even more frequently.
