DC or RB?

If in equal cars for a full season which driver would you suspect to be best at the end, Rubens or David? This is not a driver/team bashing thread, serious opinions only please. :)

What, you need to hire one of them and need to know which one? ;)

At this moment I'd say RB, thought it'd be close. It's just that he has progressed and learned so much in the last few years that he has indeed become a better driver. You know, hungry, with a sparkle in his eyes. Over 17 races he'd finish 4 pioints ahead of DC :p

hmm, that is a difficult question indeed...

Both have shown that they can be quick, and both have driven - in top machinery - in the shadow of better team mates (Mika and Michael). DC should have a small edge, since he has overcome that now and handled the presence of a new quick team-mate very well. With RB that is a bit of a question given his Brazilian temper. Chosing RB therefor is a bit of a gamble. Furthermore has DC learned to be more consistent over a year. That also is an unsure factor with RB since he had too many mech. failures during the last couple of seasons, that's not what one could call consisten competing and finishing GP's.

So, I'd go for DC but would like to have RB as a second driver then ;)

but is that his fault?

putting the two in equal cars without mech. failure issues, i'd go RB.

he's simply a better driver...

and coulthard's little teammate is looking to be better than him already... if not very competitive with him...

No, certainly not. I knew I was going to be misunderstood.

What I mean is, because of that, he never had a chance to run 'the distance', so we don't know how he will cope, if the machinery doesn't let him down all season. It's not about a race, it's about a whole season that you take him for in your team. To me it leaves another question mark.

exactly...
he would have won the brazilian gran prix if he hadn't broke...

kinda sucks, cuz he's a great driver, and deserves to show that...

I'd go for DC, he was seriously disadvantaged when teamed with Mikka and even now Ron Dennis has a "favourite driver" (Kimi), which i think is out of order in a team purporting to run an equal team. Plus his brain is twice the size of Rubens', it's not even close for me. He's also messed with Schumi a thousand times, couple extra points for that :D

team orders though...
i'm sure if RB could really race against schumacher, he would...

I would call them even. DC has thrown his car off the road more often even in recent years, but he is more aggressive and would probably pass RB consistantly making up for the off's. :)

 I keep seying articles that say that Coulthard is a wanker, but I don't agree. Whe he has a fast car he wins, like in Portugal 95. But he does make mistakes...
I think DC will probably get more points than Barrichello in the end. Barrichello is used more for blocking and DC usually takes 1 stop strategy, as opposed to Ruben's 2 stops. So when Rubens has to block he'll lose time to Coulthard. Now if it were a straight fight, that would be another story.

Tough choice.

Rubins is fast, very fast but tends to make the odd mental errors while Coulthard is more tatical.

Both have endured being the "other guy" and both have handled it very well. I like Rubins more only based on personality.
Given equal cars I don't see much in it between the two of them.

Well, back in 91 they were both in pretty much equal cars in British F3. David won the championship from Rubens, but not by much. Of course, it's 12 years later now. But, I don't think the differenc has really changed in all that time. Rubens has had some ups and downs through the years, but my money would be on David. But just barely. David really needs to up his game and be the team leader he can be.

Just for grins......

I was at Brands Hatch on Septemer 1, 1991. David beat Rubens that day.

Hi Ales!

It's been a long time. I don't get over here much anymore.

Hey, the turbo G20 is gone. Totalled by a young lady who made a bad choice trying to cut 2 lanes of traffic to get some petrol. Now I'm driving a 2000 328i. Love the car.

OMG!!!

That car looked just like mine, only was a fair bit faster. Sigh. (as you can guess, I don't go to g20.net that often). But it's a dang shame. Any SR projects going on in your garage?
