swap an engine

I have a 1992 g with about 102k miles on it--the engine does not run so well and the tranny is dying. I was wondering if it is worth swapping a new sr20de in it orjust buy a new car. I really don't want to swap a sr20det into it. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

So what did you notice about the GTi-r engine? I've been wondering about those individual throttle bodies, could you really tell the difference?
