It should remove light orange peel, but most of the time, with orange peel, you will have to sand with a high grit sand paper to smoothen it out, then polish to get a nice smooth look. I think using tamiya wax after the compound will give a shinier paint job, although the wax is expensive.

If you're new to the mirror shine effect, then a set of detail master polishing cloths might do you better. Your local hobby store should have it, if not, www.detailmaster.com. For about $22.00 you can get a set of cloths that range from 2800 to 12000 grit. You progressively work your way up so you are less likely to polish through the paint. Also, you don't have any left over polish residue or polishing scratches.

I think the master allrdy answered all your questions here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=89313&perpage=15&pagenumber=1)

In my opinion, the wax aint expensive at all

I only use about 8 drops for one model.

I think Pman said he use it for like 70 model or sumthing....

So if u gonna model for a long time, it's not expensive at all...

The compound will only take out a very slight orange peel. If it is too bad you will need to sand first.

Can anyone compare Turtle wax polishing compound(what I currently use) to Tamiya compound?

Turtle wax polishing compound is crap. Tamiya Compound provides a smoother, cleaner carrier for the abrasives, compared to turtle wax which leaves a haze behind and sometimes light scratches.
