Looks a little to "sparkley" for a Porsche, that color looks like a lowrider paint job that needs wire rims. Not very Porsche like:(

05-10-2003, 01:35 PM
it looks good, but i think the flakes are way to big for that kind of car
:)

it looks kinda cool but i'd go with a repaint in an non metallic color...gives a more zoom effect:D

Looks good !!! Just keep to the instructions and whatever you do....use the rims in the box cos they are something else. This is (i reckon) the best Porsche Tamiya have ever released but others might think differently !
Later, Mike.

Hmmm...like to see how it turns out. I can't say the colour suits a Porsche, like Mean said, but then that's just my opinion ;) It could be - lets see how it comes out!!

I would have to agree with the others. Too sparkly for my likings. The color would look great on a speedboat though!:D

05-11-2003, 02:13 PM
Well that was a tough decision...I also was thinking that it might not suit the porsche but the end result is better than shown in the pics...Iwas thinking of a metalic blue but I really love this color...on the other hand you are right...it doesn't exactly fit the porsche theme...but It is suppose to be a race/street car and I don't wanted a solid color...
Don't now sure what I'm gonna do I might reconsider...WE'll se
P.S:Yes the rims look out of this world...I raelly like them...

I think it might look a little better in person but in the pix it looks like you got a handful of glitter and threw it onto your porsche. :lol2:
Anyways lets see how you build it up, hoping you don't paint the 959 this way. :silly2:

LoL....
No way the 959 is going to be painted in a beatiful silver...As close as possible to the real thing...

I almost forgot the best part of the car...The amazing rims tamiya produced...The tire decals was a pain(since it was my first time doing it...)but the end result is amazing(even now that I screwd some of them...)...The wheel center is painted anodized blue...

Where are those fire extinguishers gonna sit. As they are'nt for the club sport version there's no mention of them on the instruction sheet. They look pretty cool and id like to use mine on my club sport.

P.S:huudo when I posted the pics at the second and third time there wasn't any replys and all the previous replys was not that good!(LoL everyone hated the color before the dark clear coat...):) :) :)

If you notice clearly they are in front of where the passenger seat is supposed to be...which menas you can have both the pasenger seat and the fire ext's!
If you don't want to put them there a second place would be in the middle of the rear shits(to add a little detail in the back area..)and then put some wiring for them...dunno...Your choice!:)
I would still put them in front of the pasenger bucket...(I've seen race cars having it that way...)
Hope I helped you a bit...

True, but I didn't mean just the Camaros. Roger also campaigned Lola T-70's, the infamous Porsche 917-30, and a GORGEOUS Ferrari 512M. Fisher Model Works and Pattern has an excellent resin curbside kit of this car...http://www.grandprixmodels.com/shop/jpgsrc/FIS2412.jpg

Well to be honest the color don't really came out as I wanted...
But when everyone said that they didn't like it I thought of give a try to make it looking good...
I put my best in this model(in my opinion better than the skyline)and the color is still a problem but after working on it and specially after the clear coat the color looks great(in person( and the theme make the model look better than my expectations...
Happy you posted your opinion!:)
Critisism makes you better...
P.S:However I didn't just sprayd silver flakes on it is a custom mixed color with three different hues of blue and the one comes with silver and blue flakes...It really looks better in person...(maybe I should borrow a digital and post some pics outside...)
P.S.2:Main reason for the thread is the many pics I got through the build up which I'm surte thay might help one day someone building the same model...
Thanks everyone for your good words...
