what does this button do?

OK!!! I have a 89 Maxima.Its been my baby for 7 years now. Of course it didnt come with an owners manual.So anyway theres a switch located on the right front of the aouto shift lever beside the change dish. It says A/T. Flip it up to Power flip it down to comfort. What does it doooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! thx

I'm not too familiar with the 89's, but my brothers 92 Thunderbird supercoupe has something like that. His is an electronic ride control. I think his says Firm and Comfort. I may be way off on this though.

My 91 has one... when in Power mode the transmistion shifts higher... Example, with it on comfort I usualy shift at 4500-5000 RPMS (depending on how far I push the pedal), with it on Power it shifts at 6000-6100 RPM's givening you a much faster start, and also allows you to reach higher speeds than without... I've gotten mine up to 130MPH before I had to slow down.
