Jdm Big Brake Caliper/Rotor/Knuckle Swap

Hey guys,
Im new here, but I had a little info that might help some of you guys in your quest for Ef Supremecy.
As you know, The SiR had much bigger brakes than our dinky usdm setup, but good luck finding a set without selling your first born child. Well there is a better solution....
Seems, that the Jdm SiR and the Usdm 4door EX Civic share some of the same Honda OE part numbers. The only difference between them is the brake pads.
I've done the swap, and I am incredibly happy. My friend has the true JDM setup and side by side, you really cant tell the difference. Not a bad upgrade, and I can definetely tell the difference in braking. The only thing I had to do was adjust my Tie rods, because after I put the larger knuckles on, the car was "duck-footed".
Now before you go canabalizing every 4 door in sight, I believe its only the 90-91 EX 4door. I could be wrong, but the easiest way to tell is the wheels. These brakes are "integra sized", so naturally nothing smaller than a 14" wheel fits on them. Once you have the wheels off, you will see just how much bigger they are than the other Civic/Crx setups.

I found that the JDM calipers only just clear 14s - if you have counterweights glued inside the wheel- be ready to have them ripped off - that's why I went to 15s. BTW - EG forks will fit too if you do the swap - that gives you a slightly larger in diameter strut while keeping the caps and springs the same :)

Since you're in Australia, you probably have the proper pads available to you. My friend had to dig and do all kind of research to find the matching honda number. Turns out that he has to use 92+ Prelude Brake pads on his 90 Ef9.
Go figure....

Aren't the SiR rotors 5 lug :confused:. I didn't think the EX brakes were 5 lug :confused:

nope they are 4 lug and BTW 90-93 teg brakes are the same as SIR and 90-91 EX brakes i cuz i have them and parts wize they are the same too

It's been known that EX Knuckles will give you like 10.3'' rotors or something.

The rotors and calipers may be similar, but the knuckles aren't. I think the integra has a different spline count for the outboard cv axle.
I do know that the part numbers are definetely different for the integra pieces.
And Im from The Valley Forge/King of Prussia Area

part numbers are different, but not spline count. the difference between them is the thickness of the knuckles. the integra has a bit beefier knuckle setup. i have the integra ones, just finished restoring them, and have them next to some CRX Si ones for comparison, and there isnt any difference as far as location of mounting points for the tie rod and balljoints. basically its the offset of the caliper to accomodate the larger rotor, and a thicker knuckle. damn those integra ones are heavier....
