I'm a beginner in webpage building. I want to know which webpage building software (HTML editor)is good for rookie. AND which one are you using currently. Thanks.

Myself, I use Notepad. :p ;)
Seriously, I've seen that 1st Page 2000 by Evrsoft is a good one. Nice and simple.

So far, I've done all of my small body of work coding my hand in Notepad. Everything I've learned, I've lifted from other sites by viewing source.

I used Notepad for the longest time. Once I got to college I got education discounts on software and bought Dreamweaver MX. It freakin' rocks! It only cost $99 and is worth every penny.

I started with Frontpage Express, only because it was on the computer. After learning a bit more about HTML, most of my editing is done in notepad like the others mentioned. I do use CuteHTML on occasion. It's OK, but with all the information available through the web, notepad is really all you need!
A google search will bring up all the HTML help you could ever want!

Frontpage (in all its forms) is the devil.

Indeed my friend! The debbo!
I use Notepad, or glofiried versions of it (Homesite, Crimson Editor, etc)
For a newb, I'd recommend Dreamweaver--if you can afford it. ;)

Hehe, I got to agree, notepad with Windows, or vi with Unix. I tried dreamweaver, but that doesn't work for me.
When you want to work with asp try Visual Interdev.
note: when I first started I used Frontpage  it's easy for beginners.

I use CoffeeCup HTML editor. Any other pure HTML editors out there that don't include the HTML code builders in them. I hate notepad because the tabbing is completely wack. I liked 40tude quite a bit, but there's too many problems with it. CoffeeCup never did me wrong.

Just about any Microsoft product is the devil, but if you ever use Frontpage for serious work, you'll find out... fast. It's so caught up with being helpful.
Like I try to select this one section of my CSS style sheet.
It says, "Surely you wanted to select this as well."
No. I want just this.
"No. No one could want to select just that. I'm selecting it all."
NO! JUST THIS!
"Too bad. It's all selected."
@#$^#@#!!!!!!!
And that's just one thing. It's so frustrating.
Notepad is good if you have a lot of time and (for the most part) if you aren't managing a huge number of pages. I like Dreamweaver because it still allows me access to the code (it has Homesite built in) and is great for letting me manage my pages.
