intake troubles

okay, i just got a Weapon-R Hyper intake and put it in last night. I have a 1997 Jetta GL 4-cylinder. the stock intake box was removed and the 2 cables and o2 sensor that attached to it have no place to go so they're not attached. Now my check transmission light is on. any suggestions or insight?:confused:

The only way for it to work is for you to drill the dimensions of the holes for the cables and O2 sensor inside the intake tube. Or just get another intake built for your VW.

thanks, Like, they sell adapters online but i dont want to wait for shipping. the car has run fine all weekend. also, it's the engine malfunction light not the tranny light, i shoulda looked better. :D

I'd say get a neuspeed CAI. That'll solve the problem. Its what I'm running, and it doesn't throw codes. Well, at least not for that reason.

man, i used to read these forums for my p10 infiniti g20, and i thought id see what was here for jettas..

i put on my own rigged intake when i bought my 96 jetta gls over a year and a half ago.. check engine light has been on since then.. i figured it was cause the o2 sensor was just messed. so i just ran outside, popped a hole in my intake piping and put the little cable inside. and lets hope tomorrow when i start it all is well =]

I need help. I got a aspec intake for my 2001 jetta 2.0. I can't figur out how to install the second line. You know the small hose that goes in the factory filter box. HELP. Please.
