I PERSONALLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO IT OR IF I CAN BUT I THINK ITZ GOOD PRACTICE TO GET IT DONE RIGHT WHEN U BUY THE RIMS....SOME RIM SHOPS HAVE THE GARAGE RIGHT THERE TO DO IT...NOT SURE OF THE COST THOUGH

no, you just have to buy the right sized tires, then ur speedo wont be off

weight has nothing to do with it, if he gets a tire with the same size rolling diameter it wont through his speedo off....any good tire shop will be able to help him get the right size tire

weight doesnt have anything to do with it, its outside diameter.

The reason it is outside diameter and not weight is that your speedometer expects a certain tire size to calculate speed. When you use a bigger tire size than stock, your speedometer is still thinking its revolving X number of times to = Y miles an hour, but really its revolving X+1 number of times = Y miles an hour.

kind of a dumb descritipin, but since the tire is bigger, its moving slower than the stock tire and the speedometer doesnt realize this.

yeah, as long as you "plus size" your tires correctly 205-40-17 are perfect, then your speedo wont be off, if you bought some 205-70-17 then your speedo would be way off.

just put your stock wheel/tire combo next to the new ones, and you'll see there is minimal difference.

rut roh, I may have to calibrate my speedo now. You see...it all happened when I programmed my canuker valve to read thinking its revolving W number of times to = T miles an hour, but really its revolving W+1 number of times = T miles an hour. And now, I don't know what to do!!

i think on a 17" wheel with a 205/40 tire your speedo is only off by about 2 mph when you are going 60 or so.. very minute...

Yeah, actually i got crazy rubbing when i turn my wheel like all the way, its hit the inner fender wall. Also i gotta roll my fenders if i wanna lower my car any farther.....kinda sux but the handling is soo badass, wish i could fix it, but i dunno wat to do.

yeah thats a lot of rubber for such a lil car... hell i know what my 195s are like 215 would be massive in comparison... you could proll help it with rolled fenders and a higer offset wheel...

I got fiberglass fenders comin in a couple days, wasnt sure if i can roll them, worried they'd break. My rims are +42 offset, which is pretty high for hondas i believe.

yeah, heh jeesh, guess thats why no one runs 215's

remember that in the measurement "205/40" this is how it is read:

205 mm wide, and the sidewall is 40 PERCENT of the WIDTH of the tire.
