Do i have to use primer on the small parts like engine parts?

I wouldnt have a clue, but yesterday, going through old threads, someone asjed this, and majority of the people here dont, including PMAN, but guiddy does. I think its up to you.

I'd avoid it because small engine parts have more detail. Just make sure you wash the parts in warm water and soap to remove oils, then go ahead and paint.

Think it's personal preference, ive'e never really been into primer until recently when i bought a can of Gunze's grey primer. It's done nothing but annoy me though beacause when ive masked a part with primer on it and then removed the masking tape its just ripped the primer off again. Im still learning, maybe it's so that your not supposed to mask over primer.

i dont use primer on a kit unless i have done body alterations were i use it to cover and seal the filler this helps to find any imperfections
or if i use a laquar paint,otherwise why bother
