Heia guys (and gals  )

Started my very first AF progress thread :D ....

Body of the Z is Met. purple (Tamiya PS-18) and the rims are from a revell Ford F150 truck from the Harley Davidson Aniversary kit...

And now I need help....

I really don't have a clue what the best interior color will be.... Any suggestions????

I hope to finish this car pretty soon, 'cause lots of other kits are waiting...

A light tan or white would work well as an interior against that color, possibly with some color matching inserts.

Do a good job on the interior whatever you decide, though, because it needs to measure up to that lovely bodywork and very stellar stance.

Love the stance - those wheels work really well.

I agree - stick with lighter base colours in the interior, perhaps keeping the upper dashboard panel black. I'd keep it relatively simple - don't go for any garish colours (e.g. yellow)

is the paint done or are you clearing it? Those rims work well with that car too.

AWESOME!!!

Those wheels work beautifully with the car. Nice choice!

As to the interior, I'm against a light colour on a paint job so dark. I'd have to say black, possibly with some purple and chrome highlights.

Keep it simple in the interior... it'll make a beautiful, clean build.

Ooh. Nice work. Did you have a chance to grab the revell f-150 harley davidson supercab? I can't believe it's not longer in production... :(

That really does look good. Both the colour and the wheels, now i want the same wheels or similar one's anyway. Dont think HLJ have anything close to them.

Nice choice of colour. One question tho - you've used Tamiya PS sprays - isn't it for polycarbonate bodies?? The Tamiya catalog advises against using PS sprays on plastic bodies - do you notice any difference?

I really don't have a clue :bloated:

My g/f saw the can and "ordered" me to buy it and use it for the Z.

I don't think I'm gonna clear it... don't wanna risk to loose the nice metallic look it has now...

Still deciding what to do with the interior... I'm thinking 'bout going for a black 'n purple leather look and chrome/alu inserts in the dash

Tx for the positive comments guys...

Lovely, now why don't Nissan offer that colour? ;)

I used the same colour for a Diablo... http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~gizmo71/PurpleLambo.JPG

Currently making a 350Z using genuine Nissan Le Mans Sunset paint, to tide me over until I get a real one in January. :D

I agree - its too shiny for an interior. Maybe you can use Tamiya's flat base over the interior - of course, since I haven't used it, I'm not quite sure if you have to mix it with the colour before painting.

IMO, a lighter interior would more compliment the body colour.

Its so spooky, I finished an SAS kitted 350z a couple of days ago, the colour is very similar if you look back at my posts. I went for a black interior with the seats and door trim in lilac with chrome highlights. Those rims realy do suit the kit, post some more pics when its finished :)

Did another test paint... now flat white and purple... *don't look at the flaws... it's just a test paint*

Tell me what you think 'bout the colors.... But if this won't work out I'm getting myself a spraycan of tan....

Oh yeah... should I go for white or purple headrests?

hmmmm  don't like it this way...
Looks so erm Johnny-mobiel (another term for ricy) and cheap, and tacky. Well I wouldn't do it, go and bother spraying it tan, would look so much nicer and classier.

Hmmm... you could be right bigfrit.... Don't want it to be "nen johnny bak" :D
