Alright I have a 3.4 01 Grand am. If i spray some gas into the intake manifold and the engine spins up and tries to start but other than that it seems like the injectors aren't opening up. Without spraying the gas in the motor just cranks without trying to start. There is pressure on the fuel rail whether its high enough or not I don't know.

You need 35 to 40 psi of fuel pressure. I would start by seeing what pressure actually is.

Is the security light blinking?

- how did this problem occur? was someone working on this engine before this problem?
- do you see spark when cranking?
- is security light blinking?
- there are 3 connectors at the ICM (ignition coil module) part that holds your ignition coils make sure all 3 connectors are plugged in.
-do you hear fuel pump?

sorry it took so long guys i had tore the top end of the motor down to the fuel rail saw nothing and put it back together, and it worked. So I didn't fix anything but the problem was solved for the time being. I was not working on the car before anything happened. I am going to have to get a pressure tester to see if the pressure is high enough, Because it happened again. The security system should be fine but i didn't think to check it.

I have spark and fuel. Just not sure if its enough fuel or the possibility of water in the gas.

I didn't know if anyone had heard of the cpu's going haywire or the crank position sensor maybe i don't know what would make the problem hit and miss. And also the check engine light is not on and the theft lock is still blinking as it is supposed to.

Actually, blinking security light mean the protection got triggered. Do a 10 minutes relearn.
put key in, turn to run, wait aprox 10 mins until the security light stop blinking. turn to off, wait a few seconds, start the car.

thanks for the help i have been reading on here and decided to do a relearn and it worked. At least it explains my lack of the injectors opening now i have seen on here in a couple of places where people have talk about disabling the passlock by cutting the wires exactly how is that done. Oh and by the way thanks for the help.
