I have a 1997 Aurora, I have installed a 1999 Shelby Series One crate motor in it but I can not use the computer that came with the engine. :crying:
Does anyone know of a company the can program the 97's computer to take full advantage of the Shelby's cams?
I have tried local shops and dealers and they say they can only program the computer to original specs for the 97. :runaround:
It runs good but it sure would be nice to get some of the hidden power out of it. :evillol:

Looks like the LH2 engine would be a better buy you must have spent a lot for that engine, this was on a RWD car now going back in for FWD? but im postive that the shelby motor has better tuned cams for more output. Also another chioce would be a the chevy LS4 combo or Buy a used 06 up Impala SS for about 12k.

From the exterior the engine looks identical. So although I can post pictures it looks identical to a stock 4.0. Even the valve covers stayed the same. I had to change the water temp sensor and revert to the 97's emissions, and use the stock layout for the coils and spark plug wires.
At idle, with the stock computer there is a very slight lope.
Shelby kinda cheated with the Series One. He took the stock L47 engine, changed cams added a full dual exhaust and tweaked the computer and got 320hp instead of the stock L47's 250hp. He turned the engine (RWD configuration) added a manual transmission and was good to go. The car only weighed 2650 lb's so the performance was very good.
When the factory went under the sold everything off including the engines, so although very rare anymore you can still occasionally find a left over Shelby engine’s on Ebay.
Thanks for the info on the ExaTorq people.
