What is a fair quote for replacing an A/C unit for an Olds 88 1994. I have been quoted prices as high as 1200.00. I do not want to be ripped off. Any help would be appreciated!!:)

Welcome to AF, exactly what is being done, there is no blanket procedure to " replace" the ac.

:crying:At this point the only thing said to me was that the bearing in the ac was going out....but of course what does that mean. To me it means that I have to buy a new compressor and replace the coolant etc and that the job would cost me at least 1200 to get it done on the Olds 88.

If all you need is the cmpr. ft bearing this is way overpriced!! Get another estimate.
