Today a raced my friends brand new Toyota Corrolla CE from a 3rd gear roll, and i got my ass handed to me. I have a 90 DX with a D16A6 head, intake and cat-back exhaust. I figured i'd loose but i had fun anyway.
I have nothing to do, so i thought i'd share.

Pick a fair fight next time...like me! You'll win!
I got pulled over for drag racing in high school, and I tried to explain to the cop, "No, I wasn't racing. I knew that guy's car was faster. Since there was no competition, there was no race."
He called me a smartass.

It's hard driving such a slow car, all the other cars pick on you:p
I'll just have to keep saving my money and make my little civic faster.

those damn corollas!! I got beat by one and ever since I have been just saving for some mods and not doing any audio or exterior shit.
Do you have MPFI? If so then im gonna cry, cause I was hoping that after I did that I would be able to take the corolla out.

yup ... all the 2003 model corollas sport the All-aluminum 1.8-liter DOHC 16-valve, VVT-i 4-cylinder, 130 hp @ 6,000 rpm, 125 lb.-ft torque@ 4,200 rpm engine
The CE is the base model POS that has power nothing, the S is the "sport" which has a kit and sunroof and all that shit, and the LE is similar to the civic LX ... power everything but no sunroof.
Also recently introduced is the TRD edition Corolla S which has 18" trd 5 spoke rims, performance exhaust, white face gauges, and some other shit.

I got one of those 2003 Corolla as a rent a car when my wifes '87 4WD Civic was wrecked. They can really move off the line, but seem to fizzle out at higher speeds. This was the automatic version.

To civicHBsi91 I live in White Marsh
To Melt, no I have the factory DP-FI but I have a Si intake manifold and ZC throttle body, I just a few more junk yard parts until I can put it all together.
To l2ice rocketz, redlineing? It was a 3rd gear roll, I was doing 55mph in 3rd then we went. My buddy pulled away like I was a Civic DX or something:finger:

i never raced a corrolla with my hatch but i raced him with my pos chevy celebrity, i beat him on the street with his full interior and 1/e, with my car being stock. but at the track when he uncaps and guts his car i lose to like a tenth of a sec, its a close race everytime.

I heard MPFI does make a big difference. I dont know about the Si head though, because ive never driven a Stock DX. I've heard the head is better than that of the DX. Does anyone know how much HP i get from a Si head?

Ok, this sounds stupid but I heard from a couple of peeps that putting the Si head on a D15 would give you a little more power, like I know that the Si head flows better but then I heard another person say that the Si head is the same as the DX one!??? I always thought they were different!!

Hey peeps, I own a 90 model CRX, D16A8, DOHC, fuel injected etc, and I ran a new corolla about 2 months ago and handed his ass to him. That might give you guys an idea of what you might wanna do to spank them! ;)

civic89dx you mis-understood what I was saying. I have a Si intake manifold but it's NOT on my car.
