2000 Jetta GLS 2.0L w/ AT, 80K miles.
The cheap p.o.s. plastic dipstick tube disintegrated when I went to check the oil. I have the replacement and got the old plastic one off, but where it fits inside the metal tube it just fell apart. Despite my best efforts, there are now little chunks of plastic stuck inside the metal tube. Does the metal part of the dipstick tube come out of the block?? If so, how?? And if not .....what do I do? The damn book doesn't say a word about the dipstick at all. I'm tempted to push the debris thru and hope the filter will catch it, but I'm afraid bad things will happen if I do so.
Can someone please help?
