these are the steps i am takign to program my remote but when i get to step 7 i do not get a chime. any ideas? i pullled the bcm prgrm fuse and i get the 3 chimes when i put the key on acc..then off then acc again..thats it
any help would be great
scott
1) Remove the key from the ignition cylinder
2) Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse from the fuse panel
(The fuse panel is located to the right of the dash panel, just inside the passenger door. The owner's manual had a table listing the position of the BCM PRGRM fuse...as I recall there was at least one other fuse with "BCM" in its name, make sure you locate the correct fuse.)
3) Close all the doors
4) Close the liftgate
5) Turn the ign lock cylinder to the ACC. position
6) Turn the ignition lock cylinder to OFF, and then back to ACC within 1 second
7) Open and close any door
Achim will be heard when the system enters the BCM programming mode
IMPORTANT!
After 7 seconds a chime may be heard confirming successful synchronization. It is necessar to wait approximately 14 seconds for a second chime that will confirm successful programming.
(I heard the first chime at 7 seconds, but didn't hear any subsequent chimes. Remote still worked, though.)
8) Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds
9) Repeat the previous step on each additional transmitter to be programmed.
10) Remove the ignition key from the ignition cylinder
11) Install the BCM PRGRM fuse back into the fuse panel.

not clear on the concern? You didn't get the 2nd chime at step 7 indicating the fob was programmed successfully....but the fob worked?
You are waiting for the 2nd chime to program the remaining fobs?

I guess his issue was, if your remote works, why does it matter? Have you pulled the battery lead off the battery for awhile to reset everything?

Scott, if your remote works, why are you reprogramming it?

Gotcha. P.S. I spent $60 on my whole remote start system, it came with 2 long range remotes (seems like double the range of the factory) and it starts my van to boot....
You SHURE you got the right remotes? IIRC on some vehicles the TECH2 at the dealer has to activate the RKE learn process, if your rig is an 01 that may be how it is done on that one... Might call the dealer and ask, or find one of the techs that LOOKS like he knows what he is doing and offer him a beer for the advice......
