I would like to use my AC while driving around the city in the middle of summer. It works well when I am on the highway or long stretches of road but when I get back into town and am waiting at a stoplight my temp guage goes up. I can also feel a loss of power when I start to accelerate. Anyone have any ides of whats going on? Im going on a roadtrip next month and would like to have this problem fixed by then. Thanks

Sounds like a bad fan clutch.

I have a 1999 5.2 durango and I have a similar problem but only when my hood is closed it overheats at a light or in the driveway. but when I open the hood it's fine (in the driveway of course!) and on the road it's fine.
