Hi

I live in a poorly patrolled Police area but am blessed with very good roads. Sometimes, when am driving late, I find myself repeatedly hitting the top speed limiter.
Is there an affordable way to remove this limiter?
(I've already upgraded the tires to handle prolonged high speed)

Can it be reset by a 'friendly' Honda technician??
Do I need to buy an ECU chip??
What are the cheaper ECU chips that can be purchased?

Thanks for your input

if the car is fysicaly capable of going faster....just 1/2 the speed signal that ur ecu gets from the tanny..... there is a simple electronic thing (dunnow how it's called) that simply does this: tanny says 80 mph----> electronic thing ----> ecu thinks it's going 40 mph.

Dont flame on me beacouse of my crappy english..........

But u get the idea..... i hope.......

If your Accord is a 95 or earlier then you have an OBD1 ECU which can be chipped with no governer, no rev limitor, earlier VTEC, etc... it's actually a Mugen spec chip that produces awesome results and can be bought on ebay for like $20... that is if you know how to solder. However, if you car is a 96 or above then you have OBD2 and it would have to be programmed by a performance company. OR......if you're like me and own a 96 Accord and plan on doing an engine swap one day.. get the OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness early, buy a used 95 Accord ECU off ebay ($30-$50) and then the chip and you're good to go!

Hope I helped...
