96 suburban o2 code

hope you can help. 96 suburban 454 setting P0157 code. i just finished fixing the intake manifold gasket. would this be something with o2 senser? thanks cjc

Yes.
Bank 2 sensor 02 circuit low voltage.

Check wiring to sensor real good.
Have you cleared code and see if it or any other codes come back?

yes, after the i did the intake gasket i had the battery disconnected for two days. it came back so i had cleared with a scanner tool yesterday to find the code. the truck has 145,000, since the gasket leak was at #8 would it be wise to just change the senser or should the upper senser gone 1st. but i will ck the harness thank you. cjc

I always like to check the wiring and plug in to sensor first.

If you find the wiring OK I would suggest swapping both #2 sensors (downstream of the cats). If the problem stays on bank 2 after swapping the sensors then you have a lean condition on that side of the motor. Or if you get a P0137 after you swap the sensors then change the sensor.

ok, so i swapped the o2 sensers. i guess we'll see what happens next. thanks guys for the help. cjc

THIS IS A THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED WITH PROBLEM! update . i had switched o2 sensers and took off on 3000 mile round trip from north idaho thru reno to S.F. then to yosemite down to mojave to L.V. where i had a programer ck the computor for codes it had indeed changed sides i replaced the o2 senser and continue on back to idaho. no problems. thanks again guys.:smile:
