half shaft or wheel bearing

I am working on 99 TAURUS four doo sedan. The A B S light came on. Upon checking the sensors I found the left front with shaveings all over it. Upon closer inspection the sensor ring has moved out board, it is grinding on the wheel bearing bolts. the half shaft has moved outboard, there is no play in the wheel bearing, and the ring does not seamed like it has shifted. Does anyone have any ideas???

Did someone install the wrong half shaft in the car previously? Unless the three bolts holding the bearing and hub assembly to the knuckle are loose, there should be no way for the halfshaft to move outboard. Any chance you can post a photo? You'd need to upload the photo to a photo-sharing site then link to it here.
